The Bucharest Symphony Orchestra has been involved in organizing and supporting various cultural projects, with a particular focus on promoting different musical styles to a diverse audience, especially young people.
Projects & Mission
We organize cultural projects aimed at building a large audience and attracting them to concert halls, so they can discover the joy of live symphonic concerts. We are committed to preserving the traditions specific to the Romanian people, supporting a series of notable events on the occasion of the Centenary of the Great Union: "100 Years of Music," "The Union under the Sign of Mary, Queen of All Romanians," "Under the Sign of the Centenary," "Heroes to Remember," "The Music that Unites Us," and our passion project, "The International Orchestra of Romanians."

Partners of the Traditional New Year's Concert
Since 2013, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra Association has been the main partner in organizing the Traditional New Year's Concert, an event that has become, over time, the most beloved and appreciated end-of-year concert in Bucharest.
Year after year, this concert has placed our capital city among the major European cities with a solid cultural tradition in the field of classical and symphonic New Year's Eve music. The number of spectators has grown steadily and exponentially, so that in recent years, tickets have sold out well in advance of the event, with the concert taking place to a full house.
Since its first edition, the Traditional New Year's Concert has enjoyed significant media exposure, being broadcast live or recorded each year by prestigious television stations such as Realitatea TV, Digi 24 and Antena 3.
This tradition continues to bring together exceptional artists, renowned conductors, and large audiences, transforming the end of the year into a true cultural celebration in Bucharest.
Art Does Not Hate
As part of the project "Art does not hate – celebrating value”, funded by a Grant SEE (granted by Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and the Romanian Government), carried out in 2014 by Asociația Philson Young, The Bucharest Symphony Orchestra supported the final part of the initiative: a symphonic concert in Titan Park (Arts Park) in Bucharest, entitled “The Concert of Interculturality – The Concert of Values”.
The event promoted cultural and artistic diversity in the context of shared European heritage, emphasizing the values of tolerance and non-discrimination.
The concert featured renowned conductor Riccardo M. Sahiti (de etnie romă), fondator și director artistic al orchestrei Roma and Sinti Philharmonic (Rroma Sinti Philharmoniker). Sahiti is internationally recognized for his ongoing efforts to promote tolerance, inclusion, and combat discrimination—fundamental values of contemporary Europe.
The concert attracted a large audience, bringing together approximately 1,000 attendees in an atmosphere celebrating diversity through symphonic music.
